On April 15–16, we hosted upKeeper Open in Umeå—two action-packed days focused on client management and security. We brought together customers, prospective customers, partners, and industry colleagues for two days filled with knowledge and new connections.
The conference kicked off with Pre Open, a pre-conference event where we reviewed new features and best practices for our products. On the first day, we also held a workshop where we looked ahead to 2031 and discussed the future of client management.
One of the highlights was the guest lecture by Markus Ullin from Norrmejerier, who shared his experience of a ransomware attack—from being woken up in the middle of the night to a production shutdown that, despite a more serious initial prognosis, was limited to 64 hours. We gained valuable insights into both crisis management and the restoration of secure operations.
Day two began with Harri from Applixure, who spoke about client lifecycle management and the balance between user experience, security, and managing the client environment. We also had a session with Pär Vidmark from IT-Advizors on structured IT security work, with the message that it’s about starting simple—but starting now.
We also took the opportunity to showcase parts of the new version of upKeeper Manager, much of which is based on customer requests received during last year’s upKeeper Open.
