We are now releasing upKeeper Manager 6.0, a version with several new features that make day-to-day work both faster and easier.
A new administrator website
The most noticeable change is a completely redesigned administrator interface, built on Microsoft Blazor and .NET 10. It feels familiar, but is faster and smoother to work with. Among the smaller improvements is the fact that your most recently selected organization is now saved between logins, and that you can switch between dark and light modes as you prefer.
Custom Tasks
When you create tasks, you can now choose how they will be made available—immediately, on a schedule, or both.
Sign Script
A brand-new feature in version 6.0. Sign Script lets you create tasks using signed PowerShell scripts, providing greater control and security in your scripting workflows. The script file must be signed, and the client computers must trust the certificate used for the signature.
Updated Single Sign-On
SSO now supports more identity providers, and the configuration has been significantly simplified. A useful new feature is that SSO settings can be detected automatically based on the domain information in an email address.
More improvements
In addition to the major updates, we’ve made a number of minor improvements that make day-to-day work a little easier:
- Simplified user management, with the ability to copy users, add them to new organizations, and manage roles for SSO users
- Redesigned dialog boxes with improved search functionality and the ability to select multiple computers at once
- Views containing information that changes frequently—such as the event log—are now updated automatically every ten seconds
Before the upgrade
Version 6.0 requires .NET 10, so make sure you have it installed before upgrading. Also note that a few features from previous versions are not included in 6.0, including Windows Update integration and legacy reports.
